Ethel “Corky” Richardson Busby entered into eternal rest on October 1, 2022. Beloved wife of Glenn Busby. Loving mother of Melvin Richard, Jr. (Cindy), Scot Richard, Peggy Richard, and Chep Richard (Kathy). Stepmother of Dwight Busby. Grandmother of Jacque Richard (Kahne), Andre Richard Sr., Randy Morvant, Sheena Lopez, Rachelle Lopez, Katie Arwood (Duanne), Shelly Richard and the late Chelsea Yates. Step-grandmother of David Busby, Jessica Price, and Cat Prejean. Great-grandmother of Andre Jr., Gracie, Logan, Kaleb, Keira, Jaysa, Randy, Danielle, Mark III, Brennan, and Chanel. Step-great-grandmother of Josie and Alivia. Daughter of the late Wilfred A. Richardson and Margaret Seminary Richardson. Sister of Wilfred “Dukes” Richardson, Jr. (Beverly), and the late Dolores Richardson, Mildred Gomez, Harold Richardson, John “Nant” Richardson, and Sr. Teresita Richardson. Former mother-in-law of Cheryl Buras and former spouse of the late Melvin “Mike” P. Richard, Sr. Age 89 years, a native of Marrero and resident of Westwego, LA. She was a loving and kind mother, devoted and adoring grandmother, and dear friend. She loved entertaining, collecting depression glass, enjoyed cooking especially her gumbo, casinos, playing cards with her friends, and spending time with her family. She was also a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Westwego. She will be deeply missed by all.
Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at 3 PM.
