Etienne Joseph Songy

Etienne Joseph Songy entered into eternal rest on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at the age of 92. Beloved husband of the late Mildred Coco Songy. Son of the late Luc Lionel Songy and Rosine Marie Waguespack Songy. Father of Stephen Martin Songy and Sandra Anne Songy. Grandfather of Laurel Watts. Brother of Ruffin Songy, Joseph Songy and the late Guy Songy, Berchman Songy, Luke Songy, Jeanne Songy Robert, Katherine Songy Homer, Marie Songy Kroll and Maude Songy Smothers. Mr. Songy was born in Wallace, LA; was a former resident of Port Sulphur and resided in New Orleans (Algiers), LA. He served in WWII in the 28th Infantry Division of the United States Army. He retired from Freeport McMoran Co. as a Surveying Supervisor. He was a member of the St. Andrew the Apostle Church SAGES. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Friday, April 27, 2012 from 12 Noon until 1:30PM. A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the funeral home Chapel on Friday at 1:30PM. Internment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Information: 504-366-4343.
