Etta Shackelford Loverde

Etta Shackelford Loverde passed away peacefully on August 28, 2012 at the age of 91. She was a native of Buras, and a resident of Belle Chasse after Hurricane Katrina. She was the beloved wife of the late Pete John Loverde. Daughter of the late Grover C. Shackelford, Sr., and Leona Ragas Shackelford. Mother of Jeanie Loverde Baril. Loving Grandmother of Joseph Lo Verde Baril. Mother-in-law of Gene Baril. Etta, and her late husband owned E. Loverde’s Radio and TV Sales and Service in Buras. Etta was a vibrant and spirited individual. She will be greatly missed by her family, and friends. Sister of Alice Rousse, and the late Earl, Grover, Jr., and Edwin Shackelford. Sister-in-law of Theresa, and Peggy Shackelford. Special thanks to all of her skilled caregivers at Bayside Healthcare Center who made Etta very comfortable and happy. Relatives, and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Monday, September 17, 2012 from 10:30AM until 1PM. A Funeral Mass will be held in the Chapel on Monday at 1PM. Interment will be held in Our Lady of Good Harbor Mausoleum, Buras, LA.
