Eugene Euchariste Blanchard, Jr.

Eugene Euchariste Blanchard, Jr., born August 7, 1935 passed away peacefully on June 13, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Grace Gattuso Blanchard; his four children, Louie Blanchard (Jill), Kim Blanchard Owens (Curtis), Becky Blanchard (Keith) and Eugene Euchariste Blanchard III (Kati); his grandchildren, Louie, Tia, Andrew, Rachel, Gene IV, Kevin, Matt, Angie, and Lauren; his great grandchildren, Mia, Mason, Brody, Braylon, Brantley, Ryan and Santiago. He is also survived by his brother, Roy Alvin Blanchard (Darnell) and sister, Mary Ann Molaison (Earl); his sisters-in-law Judy Blanchard, Theresa Blanchard, Anna Montagino and Mary Francis Gattuso as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Eugene Euchariste Blanchard, Sr.; his mother, Thelma Fink Blanchard; his brothers, Charles Blanchard, Bryon Blanchard and his in-laws, Louie and Rosalie Gattuso. He retired as a Master Ship Builder from Avondale Shipyards in 2002 as Vice President of Planning and Production. The family would like to extend a sincere appreciation to the Caretakers at Tranquil Living and Canon Hospice for their love and care. A Visitation will be held at St. Martha Catholic Church, 2555 Apollo Avenue, Harvey, LA on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 from 10AM until 12 Noon. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Martha Catholic Church on Tuesday at 12 Noon. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
