Eugene Kaufman, 92, of New Orleans, Louisiana, husband of Elizabeth Nethlin Rosier Kaufman for 70 years, went home to be with the Lord on December 8, 2018. Born March 13, 1926 in New Orleans, Louisiana, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Eugene graduated from Francis T. Nicholls High School and later, Loyola University School of Pharmacy. He retired from K&B Drugstores after 41 years as a pharmacist and store manager. A member of Woodland Presbyterian Church since 1961, he served as Deacon and Elder and on numerous ministries and committees, including the Stephens Ministry and the Evangelism Committee. Eugene is survived by his children Valerie Ann Kaufman Roberts (Steven) of Mandeville, Louisiana, Eugene Edward Kaufman of Lewisville, Texas, Judy Elizabeth Kaufman Martinez of Lewisville, Texas, Louis Charles Kaufman of New Orleans, Louisiana, grandchildren Shane Maghee Roberts (Courtney), Kevin Clay Roberts (Jessica), Jenna Nicole Kaufman Sacco (Michael), David Michael Martinez, great-grandchildren Nicole Rae Mosman, Abigail Clarke Roberts, Audrey Hope Roberts, Owen Maghee Roberts, and William Andrew Sacco, and step-granddaughter Molly Grace Bock. He is also survived by his brother Elkin Kaufman, cousins Rose Jen Cox Pierce and Betty Brent Cox, numerous nieces, nephews, and cherished friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter Nancy Jane Kaufman Moore, son-in-law, Richard Raymond Martinez, grandson Richard Joel Mosman, father and mother Louis Charles and Edna Irene Appel Kaufman, siblings Eva Rose Sintes, Katherine Elizabeth Pablovich, Edna Irene Vignes, Louis Edward Kaufman and Valerie Matilda Blush. A memorial service and celebration of life will be held Sunday, December 16, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Woodland Presbyterian Church, 5824 Berkley Drive, New Orleans, LA 70131. Visitation at the church from 1:00 PM until service time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church in memory of Eugene Kaufman. Mothe Funeral Homes in charge of arrangements.
