Euges J. Adams, age 86, entered into eternal rest after a brief illness, at West Jefferson Hospital, in the presence of his family on Saturday, March 3, 2012. He was born on August 19, 1925 in Morgan City, LA. Euges was a resident at Wynhoven HealthCare Center at the time of his passing.
Euges is survived by, his beloved wife of nearly 40 years, Joycelyn H. Adams and his sister Jessie Boudreaux. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph I. Adams, Jr. and Nella May Martin Adams; his sister, Myrtle Gaudin; his son, Richard “Ricky” Adams, native of New Orleans, and his step-son Harold R. Ravain, Jr. PM. Euges was a WWII veteran, enlisting in the US Navy in 1943 and was ranked as a Seaman First Class when honorably discharged in 1945. He served at various installations in the US and on the USS Princeton and USS Columbus (CA-74). While in the Navy he received the American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Ribbon (11 stars), WWII Victory Medal, Navy Occupation Medal – Asia Clasp, Philippine Liberation Ribbon (1 star) and the Commended W.G.Green USS Princeton.
After 29 years of service as a truck driver, he retired from McDermott Incorporated.
Cremation and niche ceremony at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery’s Chapel of Faith Mausoleum, Gretna, LA will be private.
