Eula Boyd Cothern, 95, formerly of Jayess, Mississippi died Friday, June 29, 2012 at 4:15 PM at her son's home in Bell Chasse, La. For the past 42 years she has shared the homes of her son and daughter. Mrs. Cothern was born November 3, 1916 in Jayess, Ms. the daughter of Quilla and Cornelia Boyd. After her marriage to Ray Cothern, she moved to New Orleans, La.
In addition to her parents, she was preceeded in death by her husband, one son, Paul B. Cothern, three brothers, Leroy Boyd, Alfred Leon Boyd and Bernice "Lige" Boyd, three sisters, Elon "Coot" Cothern, Norma Jean Roberts and Aline Boyd.
She is survived by one one brother: Dean Boyd of McComb, Ms.; one daughter: Betty Balley and husband, Raymond of Senoia, Ga., one son: Bobby Cothern and wife, Carol of Belle Chasse, La.; grandchildren: Raymond Ballay, Jr and wife Sandra of McAllen, Tx., Penny B. Longley
and husband Tommy of Fayetteville, Ga., Melissa C. Aasen and husband Michael of Belle Chasse, La.; great grandchildren: Jason and wife Verna, Kelly, Raymond, Madison, Elizabeth, Miranda, Trevor, great great grandchildren: Lauren, Jason Jr, Lindsey, and Megan.
Visitation will be held at Hartman-Sharkey Funeral Home, 1801 Delaware Avenue, McComb, MS on Monday, July 2, 2012 from 6 PM to 10 PM, resuming on Tuesday from 8 AM to 10 AM. Funeral Services will follow in the funeral home chapel. Burial will take place at Providence Cemetery in Jayess, MS.
