Evelyn “Evie” Jean Martin Perry Blystone, a long time resident of Avondale, LA, went home to her Heavenly Father, after a lengthy illness, on March 22, 2011 at age 71. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Wallace Clair “Wally” Blystone, brother Edward J. Martin, Jr. (Elizabeth), daughters: Peggy Ann Perry Carriere, Tina Marie Blystone Mahl (Donald), Evelyn Dianne Blystone Scully (Bruce), and sons Michael Wallace Blystone, Kelly Willam Blystone (Tiffany) and Tony Wayne Blystone, Sr. (Penny). Grandchildren: David C. Bourgeois, III, Maureen E. Perry Marquez, Bryan K. Carriere, Tia M. and Tanya L. Mahl, Albrush ‘A.J.” Joseph Scully, Jr., Michael P. and Meghan C. Perry, Tony W. Jr. and Nicholas D. Blystone. Also great-grandchildren: Trenton, Colby, Caydin, Krystal, Ashtyn, Cara, Reagan. Niece Dawn Martin Dubuisson and nephew Edward “Sonny” J. Martin, III. She will be mourned by her devoted pets Pumpkin and Happy. Proceeded in death by her loving parents; Melba Boone Martin and Edward J. Martin, Sr., her brother Leonard A. Martin, her son Mack E. Perry, Jr. and granddaughter Lauren E. Scully. As a long time parishioner of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Avondale, LA she was active and served her church in many capacities among which were Co-chairperson to the Rockin’ Cajun Festival, Co-chairperson of the Fund raising Committee for the C.C.D. Building. She taught C.C.D. for many, many years, was President of the Ladies Aux. Club, served numerous terms on the Parish Council, was a Choir member, Confirmation Retreat Team Staff, served at Lenten Fish Frys’, Marriage Prep and many, many other activities. She was a member of the Ya Ya Sisterhood and the Birthday Club. Also a recipient of the Order of St. Louis Medallion. Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, Avondale, LA 329 South Jamie Blvd. on Monday, March 28, 2011 at 1:30 PM. Interment will follow in Restlawn Park Cemetery, Avondale, LA. Visitation will be Monday from 9 AM until 1 PM at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA.
