Evelyn Louise Greer Burkett passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2011. Beloved wife of James D. Burkett. Mother of Cathie Burkett and James A Burkett (Cheryl). Grandmother of Brian Bonhagen, Jessica B. Brumley (Christopher), Maria Chin (Kai), Sarah, Teresa, and Anthony J. Burkett. Sister of Betty Carter, Frances Boren, Ernest Greer, Jr. and the late Clyde R. Greer. Mrs. Burkett was a member of the Jefferson Garden Club and the Jefferson Quilting Society for many years. A native of Rayville, La and a resident of Gretna, LA. She was a longtime parishioner of First Baptist Church, Gretna, LA. Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the funeral service in the chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 3 PM. Interment will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Visitation will be on Saturday from 12 noon until 3 PM.
