Evelyn Catan Clinkenbeard

Evelyn Clinkenbeard, a beloved matriarch and cherished member of her community, passed away on December 16, 2024, in Terrytown, Louisiana, at the age of 100. She graced this world with her presence on March 2, 1924, in San Antonio, Texas, bringing joy and wisdom to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Evelyn was a devoted mother to her daughters, Evonne “Renee” Clinkenbeard Bagley and Lynne Anne Clinkenbeard Campo, both of whom carry forward her legacy of love and kindness. She was also blessed to have warm and supportive sons-in-law, Buddy Bagley and Joey. Evelyn nurtured an extensive family that includes numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-great-grandchildren, each one reflecting a piece of her spirit and warmth. Her grandchildren - Shelley Johnson (Brian), Charles Clinkenbeard (Melanie), Wendy Blackmon (Brian), Maria Cochran (Kris), Cheryl Watkins (Josh), Micheal Clinkenbeard, Yvette Lagouros, Dawn Falcon (Rod), Daniel Bagley, Shana Meladine, and Jolyne Campo - will forever hold dear the memories made with their grandmother. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Zach, Taylor, Jenna, Camryn, Makenzie, Andrew, Trent, Robert, Addison, Brayden, Aspen, Jasper, Nicole, Renee, Destiny, Reagan, Kearstin, Daniel Jr, Preston, Aryana, Logan, Chase, and Madison, as well as her great-great-grandchildren: Alleigh, Brylan, Caydon, Aiden, Declan, Cambrie, Evalynne, Fitz, Lyric, Aalannah, Ronan, Artist, Isabella, Ella, Rowan, Chase Jr, Waylon, and Lorelai. Each child carries a piece of her enduring legacy.

She is also survived by her nephew, Albert “Putsy” Catan, who will remember her fondly for the guidance and affection she shared.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her daughter, Melody Adele Clinkenbeard, and her baby boy, Robert “Bobby” Lee Clinkenbeard. Her passing marks a profound loss for those who loved her, including her best friend, Coralie, who shared countless cherished moments by her side.

In recognition of Evelyn’s remarkable life, visitation services will be held on December 20, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Harvey - Mothe Funeral Homes, LLC, located at 2100 Westbank Expy, Harvey, LA. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place at 11:00 AM, leading into her interment at Lakelawn Mausoleum at 12:30 PM, located at 5454 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA.

Evelyn Clinkenbeard will be remembered not only for her resilience and decades of wisdom but for the love and light she brought to her family and friends throughout her wonderful life. She has left an indelible mark on all those who had the honor of knowing her.
