Evensia "Yvonne" Marie Danos Rogers

Evensia “Yvonne” Marie Danos Rogers was called home by our Lord on January 30, 2016. She died peacefully at the Lacombe Nursing Center, Lacombe, LA, at the age of 92. Yvonne was preceded in death by her husband Oliver “O.C.” C. Rogers, Jr., her parents, Louisa and Webb Danos, and sister Hazel Thibodeaux. She is survived by her son, Ricky J. Rogers (Elaine) and daughter, Candy M. Fitch (Tommy), and sisters, Lorita “Tee” Trosclair and Zoella “Zoe” Dodgen. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Kenneth and Ryan Rogers, Lisa Rogers Sheffield, Patrick and Julie Fitch, and four great grandchildren, Blake, Nathan, Phillip, and Grace Sheffield. Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends.
Yvonne was a stay-at-home Mom where she enjoyed cooking, gardening, and reading. She grew all of her own vegetables and nurtured a beautiful rose garden. She traveled the world with her husband’s work and enjoyed annual vacations. Yvonne particularly enjoyed her Grand Isle camp where she and O.C. spend countless days of enjoyment. Yvonne loved hosting the annual family Thanksgiving feast where as many as 50 family members and friends would attend. She also loved any opportunity to get the family together.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd, Marrero, LA on Friday, February 5, 2016 from 11 AM until 1 PM. The Funeral Mass will follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment, Westlawn Memorial Park, Gretna, LA. In lieu of flowers, family requests Mass offerings or memorial donations in her memory to the Samaritan Center, 402 Girod St. Mandeville, LA 70448.
