Fernand J. "Fred" Isabelle

Fernand Joseph “Fred” Isabelle, Sr. age 84 passed away Thursday morning Dec. 12, 2013. Loving father of Myrna I. Freeman (Calvin), Maureen I. Pritchard (John), Fernand J. Isabelle, Jr. (Carmen) and Dr. Michael E. Isabelle (Lisa). Grandfather of Brian Freeman, Garrett Freeman, Christina Davis, Ashleigh Isabelle, Mason Isabelle and Madison Isabelle. Step grandfather of Eric Diaz and Sylvia Jackson. Great grandfather of Nathan, Sydney, Aidan, Harper and Devyn. Brother to Carol I. Cook. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Fernand was born in Manchester, New Hampshire. After retiring from a 20 year career in The United States Navy he made New Orleans his home.
For over 30 years he was Santa at Christmas time. Being Santa was one of the greatest joys of his life.
Always athletic he was a coach and avid supporter at Terrytown Playground. He was also active for many years in the Terrytown and Oakdale Golden ages where he received numerous medals in
the Senior Olympics. In lieu of flowers the family wishes a
donation to be made to St. Judes Children's Hospital.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 from 9 AM to 11 AM.
