Florence “Nell” Bernard on January 6, 2013. Beloved wife of the late Landry Joseph “L.J.” Bernard, Jr. Mother of Lynne Nell Bernard and Landry Joseph Bernard, III (Janet). Grandmother of Meredith Bernard Negueloua (Timothy) and Melissa Bernard LeJeune. Great grandmother of Jacob Bernard and Jonah Timothy Negueloua, Brennan Landry and Avery Elizabeth LeJeune. Sister of the late Vincent “V.J.” St. Blanc, Jr. Daughter of the late Florence Fox St. Blanc and Vincent “V.J.” St. Blanc. Mrs. Bernard was an Honor Graduate from LSU in 1940 and was a teacher at Westwego High School and later at Worley Jr. High School. She was a member of the Ladies Altar Society of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church, Westwego, The West Jefferson Hospital Ladies Auxiliary and the Louisiana Retired Teachers Association. Age 92 years, a native of New Orleans, LA, resident of Westwego, LA for many years and most recently of Slidell, LA. Special thanks to the staff of Heritage Manor, Slidell, LA for their care and compassion they showed to “Nell”. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Friday, Jaunary 11, 2013 at 11 AM. Interment, Our Lady of Prompt Succor Mausoleum, Westwego, LA. Parlors will be open Friday from 9 AM until 11 AM.
