Floyd Vidmer Colvin, Jr. age 87 peacefully entered into eternal rest on Sunday, December 13, 2015. Beloved husband of the late Ethel Rowden Colvin. Son of the late Floyd V. Colvin, Sr. and Bessie Upchurch Colvin. Loving father of Margaret C. Olivier (Husband Elmer) and the late Theresa C. Verdin. Grandfather of Brittany Jimenez, Christina Verdin, Jessica Weese, John Olivier and Elizabeth Olivier. Also survived by 5 great grandchildren. Brother of Barbara C. Sansing of Cottondale, Alabama. Floyd was born in Eutaw, Alabama and resided in Marrero, LA. He served his country for 4 years while enlisted in the United States Navy. He retired from the Air Force Reserve as a Master Sgt. with over 28 years and retired from the Civil Service with over 30 years of service. He was a truck driver for Hasson and Poole Wholesale Grocery Co. in Eutaw, Alabama; an Aircraft electrician in the United States Navy at Aircraft Engineering and Maintenance Company at Oakland Airport in California, Craig Air Force Base in Alabama and 926 Tactical Fighter Group, N.A.S. in Belle Chasse, LA. Family and friends, also employees of West Jefferson Medical Center and Marrero Health Care Center are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Saturday, December 19, 2015 from 9AM until 11AM. A Funeral Mass will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 11AM. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Eutaw, Alabama.
