Frances Yvonne McDaniel Beninate, 78 passed from this life on September 9, 2015 and entered her Heavenly Father’s Kingdom. Yvonne was married just once to her soulmate, Jennings Nicholas Beninate who proceeded her in death in 1983. She is survived by her two sons and their spouses: James Nicholas and Traci Chisolm Beninate and Christopher John and Laura Bertucci Beninate; her four granddaughters who were the sparkle in her eyes; Blair Elizabeth Beninate, Peyton Sarah Beninate, Taylor Elizabeth Beninate and Chandler Nicole Beninate; and one great granddaughter; Holly Grace Rasor. She is also survived by her very close friend William Irwin. She is the daughter of Alvy Judson McDaniel and Dorothy Snyder McDaniel and the sister of Alvy Judson “Steve” McDaniel, each deceased. Originally from Houston, Texas, Yvonne moved to Algiers with her parents in 1955 and never left. She would always say that New Orleans was her true home town. It was here that she met Jennings and settled down to raise a family. Her husband was taken from her much too early in life and she had to become a father-figure as well as a mother to her sons. She did both exceedingly well. Needing to run the household on her own, Yvonne went back to college and received her degree in Accounting. She worked for Cantin & Associates for many years until her retirement. Yvonne was the type of person who always had a smile to share and a word of encouragement when she felt that you needed it. Her love for God unconditional, she is finally able to reunite with our Dad in the splendor of Heaven, but she will be greatly missed back here. Her final wishes were to forgo a formal funeral service, to be cremated and for her ashes to be spread by her sons in a very special place. In her memory please make a donation to her favorite charity, St. Jude's Children's Hospital. We ask that Family and Friends take a moment to say a special prayer for Yvonne and to remember a specific time when she made you smile. Mothe Funeral Homes in charge of arrangements, 504.366.4343.
