Francisco McAdoo Pereira, Sr.

Francisco McAdoo Pereira Sr. passed away peacefully at the age of 87 at his home on Thursday, April 4, 2024.

He was the beloved and cherished husband of the late Martha “Mother” Pereira. Loving and devoted father of Ada Pereira, Fern Azocar (Victor), James Pereira (Kelly), and Junior Pereira (Gail). Son of the late Albert Pereira and the late Mae Fern Bodden Pereira. Brother of the late Harry Pereira, the late Dacus Pereira, the late Myers Pereira, the late Helen Thompson, the late Fanny Torres, the late Ada Pereira, and Bill Pereira. Dedicated and adored grandfather to Jordan Hale Bowers (Justin), Mario SanRoman, Tory Pereira, Brooke Pereira (Kaine), Andrew Pereira, and Blaise Pereira. Great Grandfather to Emma, Ansley, Everly, Aspen, Alayah, and Isaiah. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Born in Utila, Honduras on January 12,1937. As a young man he and his friends loved to serenade the young ladies. In 1963 he made his journey to the United States where he settled in Harvey, LA. In May of 1968 he brought his wife and children to live with him. He retired as a long shoreman after 32 years. He will be longed remembered for his great BBQs and crawfish boils, that he loved to put on for family and friends. He loved his yearly vacations to Pensacola, FL, where he loved staying at the Surf and Sand with family and friends. He was an active member of The Faith Temple Church of God where he played his guitar with the music group. He will be forever loved and live on in the hearts of all his family and friends. 

Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, Louisiana on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 from 11AM until 1:30PM.  A Funeral Mass will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 1:30PM.  Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, Louisiana.  Family and friends may offer condolences at mothefunerals.com.
