Frank O. Maness, Jr.

Frank Oliver Maness, Jr., Age 96, lived a long and full life. He was born January 19, 1928 and entered into eternal rest on Friday, December 20, 2024. He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Hazel Mae Tauzin, the love of his life. He is the father of Ann Johnson (Walt), Frank Maness, III, Jane Breaud (David) and Mary Flettrich (David). He was the proud Grandfather of nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren who lovingly called him pawpaw. Frank lived in Gretna his entire life. He graduated from Gretna High School and Tulane University. He is a Veteran of World War II celebrated with many honors. Frank worked as an accountant/auditor and retired from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office. He was employed at Hunt Wesson and Michaud in earlier years. In his retirement, Frank volunteered at St. Joseph Catholic Church and served in many capacities. He also served as a board member for many Senior Groups including AARP and Theta. Frank was a member of the Gretna Sportsmen’s Club. He enjoyed fishing and playing horseshoes with relatives and friends. He will be missed by everyone who was fortunate enough to know this kind, gentle man. Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, Louisiana on Thursday, December 26, 2024 from 9:30AM until 11AM. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11AM. Interment will be at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, Louisiana with honor ceremony by the United States Coast Guard.
