Frank J. Pelitere Jr., a man beloved by all who had the fortune of knowing him, passed away on August 1, 2024, surrounded by his family and friends. Frank was a beacon of warmth and kindness, known for his attentive listening and genuine presence in every conversation. He never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Born on August 4, 1948, in Chalmette, LA, Frank's life was marked by his deep connections with family and friends. He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Judy, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and companionship. Frank leaves behind his two children, Michael (Dr. Margaret) and Heather (Darren, deceased), and three cherished grandchildren: Chloe, Cameron, and Collin. He is also remembered fondly by his many cousins and close friends, an extensive network that spans generations. Frank's early education took place at Prompt Succor Grammar School. In a notable departure from family tradition, he chose to attend De La Salle High School rather than Holy Cross High School. It was during his first year of college that Frank met the love of his life, Judy Stamps. Their union was the foundation of a beautiful family and a testament to enduring love. Frank's personality was as vibrant as his never-ending quips and slightly off-key singing, which never failed to bring joy to those around him. His impromptu serenades, especially in the shower, became a fond and memorable trait among his loved ones. A quintessential salesman, Frank had a natural charm and persuasive ability that endeared him to everyone he met. He developed many long-lasting friendships through his extensive career in pharmaceutical sales and his active involvement in Endymion. Known for his impeccable sense of style, Frank had a wardrobe second to none. A passionate golfer, Frank was deeply involved in all aspects of the game. He appreciated its history, reveled in the practice, enjoyed coaching others, and loved playing whenever he could. His weekly golf game with his friends, including his favorite golfing buddy Andrew Barreca, as well as additional rounds with family, the Jesuit Golf Team, or new acquaintances at the club, were highlights of his life. Special thanks to Frank's daughter-in-law, Dr. Margaret Pelitere, Dr. Gunaratne, and the excellent ICU staff at Baptist Hospital for their exceptional care and support. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Visitation on Friday, August 23, 2024 at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 3101 Eton St. Algiers, LA from 9am until 12pm with a Memorial Mass at 12pm. Frank’s legacy of kindness, humor, and dedication to those he loved will continue to inspire all who knew him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
