Frank Donald Wilson Sr.

Frank Donald Wilson, Sr. passed into eternity on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at the age of 74. Frank was born and raised in New Orleans, LA, resided in St. Bernard, LA for a few years, then moved to Terrytown, LA where he has resided for the past 40 years. He is survived by his loving and caring wife, Patricia Hawco Wilson. Beloved father of Frank Jr., Stephen Sr., and David Wilson, and the late Patti L. Wilson Russo. Stepfather of Rodney and Chad Treadaway. Grandfather of Lisa Wilson Adams (David), Sondra, Stephen Jr. (Melissa), Claire, Jacob, Michael, and Benjamin Wilson. Step grandfather of Chad Jr., Lacey, Jessica, Laila, and Candace. Great-grandfather of Julie, Skylar, Gabrielle, Ciera, Toby, Lillian, Gabrielle, and Hunter. Step great-grandfather of Jeffery, Landon, and Jacob. Son of the late Frank David Wilson and Alice Callahan Wilson Perez Alphonso. Brother of the late Glenda Wilson Spann. Frank attended St. Cletus Catholic Church in Gretna, LA, was a member of Indivisible Friends #404 F&AM Lodge since 1968, and served as Worshipful Master in 1983 and again in 2011. He served as Secretary of his lodge for over 25 years. He was a member of Jerusalem Temple Shrine Center and was in the Oriental Band for many years. Frank served in the US Navy, honorably discharged in 1961. He worked for the New Orleans Police Department for nine years until 1970. Frank attended Loyola University from 1963 until 1968 and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminology and Psychology. He returned to Loyola from 1970 until 1972 and earned a Business Administration Degree and Lifetime Teaching Certificate, and later from 1974 until 1975 he earned his Master’s Degree in Administration and Supervision. Frank worked in the Jefferson Parish School System as a secondary math teacher and was promoted in 1978 as Dean of Students, remaining in the position until retirement in 2001. Frank was so loved and will be sadly missed by his family and his many friends. He is going home, into your hands Lord, please take good care of him. Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Monday, January 19, 2015 at 3 PM. Visitation will be from 12 noon until mass time. Cremation will follow, and interment will be arranged in the family tomb in Gulfport, MS. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frank’s memory to the Louisiana Masonic Dyslexia Training Program Fund, 39 Fairfield Avenue, Gretna, LA 70056.
