Fred George Borne

Fred George Borne, age 91 years, joined his adored wife, Rosemay Borne, in eternal glory on Tuesday, December 13, 2011. Son of the late Walter Borne and Agnas Foucha Borne. Survived by his sister Eloise Borne Ripp. Brother of the late Able Borne, James Borne, Owen Borne, Walter Borne and Bessie Borne. Loving father of Wanda Borne Walker and Sandra Borne Remkes. Father-in-law to Skip Walker and Reenee Remkes. Grandfather of Kristie Remkes Berggren, Shayne Walker Brunet, Tara Walker, Kell Remkes and Jonathan Walker. Great-grandfather of Brenden Berggren, Presten Berggren and Cooper Brunet. A native of Franklin, LA and a resident of Algiers, LA for the past 85 years. He graduated from Delgado Community College in 1940 and served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II. He ran Borne and Ripp Supermarket on Patterson St. in Algiers for 24 years and was a member of the American Legion Post 218. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 6201 Stratford Place, New Orleans, LA on Friday, December 16, 2011 at 1PM. Visitation at the church from 11AM until funeral time. Interment: Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. In lieu of flowers, masses are preferred. MOTHE FUNERAL HOME in charge of arrangements.
