Fred J. Scioneaux

October 29, 1934 — February 10, 2013

Fred J. Scioneaux passed away on February 10, 2013 at the age of 78 years. Beloved husband of Glenda Jackson Scioneaux. Father of Patty Hegwood (husband, Jason) and the late Karen Lynn Scioneaux. Grandfather of Hannah Zoe Hegwood. Brother of Esther Jackson, Earl and Robert Scioneaux, the late Elaine Schaller and Louis Scioneaux. Son of the late Florence Willis Scioneaux and Elfere Scioneaux. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Fred graduated from Behrman High School and Loyola School of Business. He retired as business sales manager for Olivetti and Brother business machines. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force, achieved the rank of Airman, 3rd Class and was stationed in Labrador, Newfoundland, Canada. He was also a member of Fr. Peter Boerding K of C Council No. 6357.
His love, compassion and good-natured humor enabled him to serve as patriarc of his family, was always there to lend a helping hand, words of encouragement or a light-hearted joke. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 1:30 PM. Interment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will take place on Wednesday from 6 PM to 10 PM, resuming on Thursday from 9 AM to 1:30 PM. Donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association ( www.heart.org ).
