Freddie"Billy" Edward Luft

Freddie “Billy” E. Luft, Sr. passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Woldenburg Village at the age of 94. He was the son of the late Frederick Albert Luft and Esther Wattigney Luft. Husband of the late Ethel “Sis” R. Luft. Father of Tami J. Luft and the late Freddie E. Luft, Jr. Brother of Melvin L. Luft of Orlando, FL and the late Floris L. Baker and Vera L. Lusignan. Grandfather of Nataleigh S. Mackey (Jason), Shaun Stallings (Veronica), Justin Stallings (Jessica) and Jeremy Stallings (Danielle). Great grandfather of Austin, Keleigh, Lana, Jena, Aydin, Kody, Haley, Colin and Ainsley. Mr. Luft was a native of Algiers, LA and a resident of Terrytown, LA for the past 3 years. He was retired from the Orleans Parish School Board. He was also an avid musician for over 50 years. He was a member of Sts. John Lodge #153, the Jerusalem Temple Shriners, the Scottish Rite, an honorary member of Parasol’s, Algiers Irish Club and the Moose Lodge. The family would like to thank Frank and Jackie Chiffici for their love and support and Woldenburg Village for their kindness and care. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at 11AM.
