Frederick E. April

Frederick E. April, Sr. passed into the arms of Jesus on May 6, 2012 at the age of 77. Beloved Husband of the late Joyce Simoneaux April and former husband of Irene April Montelongo. Adored father of Mary DiBlasi, Frederick E. April Jr., Annette Bonvillian, Ann Cuevas, Irene A. LeBlanc, Bernadette April and the late Marie Prinz. Beloved father-in-law of Mario DiBlasi, Roy LeBlanc Jr., Errol Prinz Sr., the late Kevin Cuevas and Pete Gabel. Brother of Margaret Shea and the late William April Jr. Brother-in-law of the late Joseph Shea. Son of the late Irene Wergheimer April and William Peter April Sr. Also survived by his affectionate stepchildren Paul Simoneaux Sr. (his wife Myrtle), Ned Simoneaux Jr., Thomas Simoneaux (his wife Carol), David Simoneaux (his wife, the late Geralyn) Keith Simoneaux (his wife Karen). Mr. April will be greatly missed by his 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and his 1 great-great-granddaughter, his 10 step-grandchildren and 7 step-great-grandchildren. The family extends their gratitude to his hospice caregivers for the care and compassion extended not only to him, but to his family.
He worked for many years with Blue Plate, Times Picayune and Coca-Cola.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Thursday, May 10, 2012 from 9 AM until 1:30 PM.
