Gary A. "Big Garoo" Shefcyk, Sr.

Gary A. “Big Garoo” Shefcyk Sr. passed away on September 10, 2016 at the age of 66 years. Beloved husband of Mandy Pertuit Shefcyk. Father of Misty Pertuit (Edward “Willie” Solet) and Gary A. “Lil’ Garoo” Shefcyk Jr. (Jazmin Landry). Grandfather of Trebor, Brianna, Madison and Bryon “B.J.”. Brother of Carmen Butler (the late James “Jim”) and Martin “Marty” Shefcyk Jr. (Kathleen “Kathy” Stacy). Son of the late Alice Burch Shefcyk and Martin Shefcyk Sr. Also survived by his canine companions Brutus and Duke along with many other loving relatives and friends.
He graduated from East Jefferson High School, attended Delgado College in New Orleans and recently retired as a machinist for several area companies including Prager Inc. and Turner Industries.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Friday, September 23, 2016 from 9 AM to 11 AM. Memorial Services will follow.
