Gary "Coach Goose" Osborne

Gary Steven “Coach Goose” Osborne, passed away on May 6, 2023 at the age of 61. Husband of Robin Rodriguez Osborne. Stepdad to Sammy Sannasardo and Katelyn Sannasardo. Step Grandfather of Chloe Callahan. Brother of James Ronald Osborne (Janie). Son of the late John Spencer Osborne Jr and Lois “Laverne” Osborne. Uncle of Austin J. Osborne, Ashlyn A. Osborne, and Great uncle of Ryder Boudreaux. Also survived by other loving relatives and friends and his beloved canine companion Jazz. 

Gary graduated from John Ehret High School, Class of 1979 where he played football and wrestled and went on to play football for Gulf Coast Community College in Perkinston, MS. He made a career as a commercial diver in the oilfield for many years with McDermott Int and other oilfield related companies spanning nearly 30 years while   coaching with his beloved John Curtis Christian School. For the last 15 years, he would coach the middle school in various sports as well as  Varsity football and wrestling, serving as a mentor and touching the hearts and lives of our youth, parents and everyone in the John Curtis Community. While his passing is sorrowful, his life and legacy will be celebrated. Rest in Peace Goose!

A Gathering of Family and Friends will take place at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Friday, May 12, 2023 from 9am to 11am. Funeral prayers will follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park, Gretna, LA.
