Gary Anthony White, Sr.

Gary A White Sr. peacefully passed away on the evening of October 23, 2024 surrounded by family. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on March 9, 1953. 

He is the son of the late John Thomas White, Jr. and the late Theresa Thomas White. The beloved husband to Tina Weigel White. The loving father to Shannell White Watts (Michael) Tanishia White Gary A. White, Jr. and Briana Theresa White. The adoring grandfather to Kristian Watts, Amber Allen, Micaeli Watts, Kali Cook (Brian), Michael White, and Marselle Watts. The great grandfather to Kamryn Michael. The brother of the late Shirley Bradford, the late John Thomas White III, the late Therence White Sr. and Tonya J.  White, He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

Gary was a proud graduate of Joseph S. Clark- Home of the Bulldogs (Class of 1971). He attended Delgado Community College where he was enrolled in business classes to help him refine his craft as a local businessman. During his younger years, he worked for other car dealerships and local businesses. He decided to go into business for himself and enjoyed working as entrepreneur for over 30 years, selling and refurbishing cars for local agencies and his own car dealership. His hobbies, included playing in poker tournaments and with friends. Also, he owned thoroughbred race horses that competed throughout the state of Louisiana. His most prized horses were White Start and Don't Be Long Z.

He was well respected by everyone who knew him. During his downtime, he enjoyed cooking and bonding with his family over Saints games and Sunday or holiday meals. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial service at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 West Bank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at 11:00 am with visitation from 9:30 am to 11:00 am. Interment will be private.
