Gasper “Luke” Perlander departed this life on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at the age of 77. Beloved husband of 57 years to June Yuratich Perlander. Loving father of John Perlander (Marie), Joseph Perlander (Fonda), Jamey LeJeune (Carl), Judi Perlander and Jason Perlander. Grandfather of Anson and Randi Perlander, Heather Prima (Russell) and Andre Perlander (Cori), Logan, Victoria and Cullen LeJeune, Chelsea Cook and Sophia Perlander. Great Grandfather of Mia and Ali Prima, Mackenzie Edmonds and Madison Carney. Brother of Carroll Perlander (Lynette), Josephine Jacobs (Lonnie) and a host of nieces and nephews. Luke was born in Ostrica, LA on November 4, 1935 and lived there until the 1947 Hurricane then moved to Buras until Hurricane Katrina and relocated to Ponchatoula, LA. Luke is preceded in death by his father, Luke Perlander, his mother, Josephine Quartararo Perlander, and his brother, Joseph Matthew Perlander. He retired from Shell Oil Company after 39 years as a Transportation Supervisor and he is a retired school bus driver for the Plaquemines Parish School System after 25 years. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Good Harbor Catholic Church in Buras until Hurricane Katrina at which time he became a parishioner at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Springfield, LA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Saturday, December 22, 2012 from 9AM until 11AM.
