George "Dan" Bastiansen

George Daniel "Dan" Bastiansen passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at the age of 89. Beloved husband of the late Maria Santos Bastiansen. Devoted father of Ralph "Dave" Bastiansen (Liz), Paul Marcus Bastiansen (Connie), and Jane Maria Bastiansen Daigle (Sonny). Son of the late Ingeberg Torgensen Bastiansen and Bernt Bastiansen. Brother of Bernice Eide, and the late Bernt "Benny" Bastiansen, James "Jimmy" Bast, and Andrew Bastiansen. Grandfather of David Bastiansen, Brandon Daigle, Amanda Bastiansen, Holly Enyart and Emily West. Also survived by 2 great grandchildren. He was a medic in the Korean War having served in the U.S. Army. He was an electrician and was a seaman for 25 years. He was a native of New Orleans, LA, a resident of Marrero, LA for 45 years. Relatives and friends of the family, also members of Salem Lutheran Church, are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Monday, February 6, 2017 at 11am. Interment, Restlawn Park Cemetery, Avondale, LA. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday morning from 9am until 11am.
