George W. Dunn

George W. Dunn passed away suddenly on December 24, 2011 at the age of 60. Devoted and beloved husband of 33 years to Wanda Hymel Dunn. Beloved step father of Bobby Matherne, Jr. and step grandfather of Kelsey Matherne and Shawn Bean. He was the son in law of Carmen Hymel and the beloved son of the late George T. Dunn and Mary Ellen Walter Dunn. He leaves behind his beloved sister Mary Ellen “Snooks” Dunn. He had many friends and will be sadly missed by Pam Boxwell, Barry Hamilton, Jeffery and Ruby Haupt, Longtime friends
Russell and Ann Kerner, along with good friend Harry Atwood. He was the devoted friend of the late Jay Weems, his wife Denise and family. George was known for his knowledge, humor and loyalty as a friend. His passing has left emptiness in us all that can never be filled. He worked for the Jefferson Parish Drainage Department as a Supervisor II for maintenance of pumping stations. He will be missed for his knowledge, dedication and expertise.
