George Joseph Mire

George Joseph Mire passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2022 surrounded by his family at the age of 84. He was born On October 12, 1938 in Gretna, Louisiana and was the son of the late George and Eunice Mire. He is survived by his beloved fiancé Nettie Young, father of Gerald J. Mire (Sandra), Randy P. Mire (Tracy), grandchildren Matthew Mire (Lan), Megan Mire, Mallorie Mire Rechtien (Jesse), great-grandchildren Aiden Mire, Mason Mire, and Laiken Rechtien, extended family Rodney J. Young (Jayna), Todd Young, Zachary Young (Sage), Ashleigh Young, Todd Young Jr, Taylar Young,and Sicily Young. George is also survived by many cousins and friends. George retired as a transmission mechanic from Leson Chevrolet. He enjoyed fishing and raising Beagles. He was a devoted member of the Westbank Beagle Club and Tchoupitoulas Beagle Club. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Express., Harvey, LA on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at 11am.
