George Henry Trosclair, a native of Marrero, LA, a former resident of Marrero, Algiers and Grand Isle, LA, and a resident of Cut Off, LA, died Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at the age of 84. Beloved husband of the late Martha Gibson Trosclair. Father of Maureen “Renie” Trosclair Davis and Jeffery “Rock” Trosclair (the late Karen). Grandfather of Shane Trosclair. Brother of the late Archie Trosclair, his twin sister, Joyce Marchiafava, Georgia Mae Wolfe, Virgie T. Marse, Anna Lee “Tee” Trosclair and Florence T. Masters. Half-brother of Gabe Rodrigue. Son of the late Felix Trosclair and O’Lenda Peltier Trosclair.
George graduated from Marrero High School in 1948, entered into the U.S. Army and was stationed in Colorado Springs, CO where he met and married his beloved Martha. He later retired in New Orleans as a Federal Accountant for the U.S. Navy. Following his retirement, he spent most of his time at his camp on Grand Isle doing what he loved to do most: fishing and spending time with his friends. He will be fondly remembered by his quick wit and kindness to all. He will be missed by all who knew him, especially his close friends, Terry Schwing, Janet Bickham and his laughing buddy, Kevin Schillage. His year revolved around football season to watch his beloved L.S.U. Tigers. Donations in his memory may be made to the L.A.S.P.C.A. (

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy, Harvey, LA on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 9 AM. Interment, Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Parlors will be open Friday, September 5, 2014 from 6 PM until 10 PM and again Saturday from 8 AM until 9 AM.
