Gerald Joseph Arceneaux

Gerald Joseph Arceneaux entered into eternal rest on March 4, 2023. Beloved husband of Suzanne Arceneaux for 53 years. Father of Renee D’Ambrosia (Peter) and Nicole LaNasa (Keith). Grandfather of Olivia, Cruz, Aubrey, and Stella. Son of the late Elfage and Viola Arceneaux. Brother of Gail Tamborella (Wayne), Audrey Kingstad, Yvonne Smith (John), and the late Sonia Sutherland (late Roy). Age 74 years and a lifelong resident of Marrero, LA. After graduating from West Jefferson High School in 1966, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Nicholls State University in 1971. He then went on to receive his Juris Doctorate from Louisiana State University School of Law in 1974. After graduating, he opened his first law office in Westwego, LA and practiced law in Westwego and Marrero for 49 years. He was Legal Counsel for Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office for 19 years and City Attorney for 10 years for the City of Westwego. He then served as Magistrate for the City of Westwego from 1988 until his passing. Gerald was a loving husband, father and grandfather. More important than anything else was his love for his family. He took pride in watching his family grow and was always present to support them in any way needed. Gerald’s grandchildren brought great joy to his life. He valued the time he spent watching them excel in their individual activities. He also enjoyed spending time camping, boating, and fishing. He was an accomplished pilot and enjoyed flying his amphibious Lake aircraft. Gerald loved traveling in his RV having Suzanne photograph their journey along the way. The memories they created will last forever.

Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd.,Marrero, LA on Thursday, March 9, 2023 from 5 PM until 8 PM. Visitation will resume at Visitation of Our Lady Catholic Church, Marrero, LA on Friday, March 10, 2023 from 9:30 AM until funeral mass time at 11 AM. Interment Gate of Heaven Mausoleum, Westwego, LA.
