Gerald Joseph Dugas

Gerald Joseph Dugas entered into eternal rest on his 84th birthday, January 4. Beloved husband of 51 years to Antoinette Farizo Dugas. Son of the late Hector Joseph Dugas and Althea Leah Breaux Dugas. Father of Robert J. “Bobby” Dugas (Celeste), Henry A. Rodriguez and Cynthia A. Meriweather (Avery). Brother of Dennis Dugas, Betty Plaisance and the late Leroy A. Dugas, Larence Dugas, Robert J. Dugas, Pearl Terrebonne, Loretta Dugas and Joanne Dufrene. Also survived by 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by 2 great grandchildren. Gerald retired as Assistant Superintendent with Plaquemines Parish Government after 35 years of service. He also served as Staff Sgt in the United States Air Force. Gerald was a member of AARP and American Legion Post 0268 of Vacherie. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 from 6PM until 11PM. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Wednesday from 8AM until 11:30AM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:30AM.
