On April 15th. Gerald E. “Jerry” Puderer, passed away peacefully at the age of 84. His last couple of years were filled with pain, what dementia didn’t destroy prostate cancer did. A lifelong resident of Gretna, LA, he leaves behind his wife of 61 years, Joyce “Jaye” Puderer, his daughter, Martha “Red Bean” Puderer and the apple of his eye, his grandson, Evan. His only son, Duane “Buckwheat” Puderer predeceased him.
Jerry was a simple man, who enjoyed the little things, like a cold beer, a bag of potato chips and a dog on his lap after a hard day’s work. He never met a stranger and enjoyed just sitting on his front steps and waving at anyone who passed by.
There will be no funeral services at this time. It was his wish to have his body donated to the LSU School of Medicine for scientific research.
