Geraldine Davies Grissom

Geraldine Davies Grissom passed away on Monday, October 13, 2014. Beloved wife of Raymond Rush Grissom for 23 years. Mother of Amanda D. Ancar (Millen), Ashley Grissom (fiancé Brian Barrilleaux), and Kattie Grissom. Godmother of Candy Laporte (Anthony). Grandmother of Jerry, Cayden, Ally, Secret, and Zion. Daughter of the late Nellie Ponvelle Matherne and Jerry Matherne. Sister of Cherrian Thompson (Raymond), Bonnie Bergeron, Pamela Davies, and the late Darlene Brown (Lance). Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, as well as other family friends who lovingly called her “Mom.” Age 54 years and a lifelong resident of Westwego, LA. Geraldine dearly loved her grandbabies and enjoyed spending time with family around home cooked meals. She liked to paint, make jewelry and crafts, and listen to swamp pop music. Her late pomeranian, Pierre was her inseparable friend. She provided Christmas presents for children in need, and even cooked for the military after Hurricane Katrina. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the memorial visitation on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at 609 Urbandale St., Marrero, LA from 3 PM until 6 PM . Burial will be private.
