Geraldine Strassel Meyer

Geraldine Strassel Meyer departed this life, at the age of 85, on Friday May 27, 2016. She was a native of Algiers, La. and a member of Holy Name of Mary Parish. Daughter of the late Edward Charles Strassel and late Mary Enola Heitmeier. Wife of the late Gary Meyer Sr. Loving mother of Constance Meyer, Gary Meyer Jr., Judy (Keith) Duplechain, Edward “Eddie” Meyer and the late Marlene Aysien. Grandmother to Terri (Jason) Cedotal, Sharon Aysien, Britney Duplechain, Casie Duplechain, Christopher Priebe and Stephen Priebe. Great grandmother of Jacob Cedotal. Sister of Sister Audrey Strassel M.G.C, David Strassel and the late Leslie “Pete” Strassel. Half-sister of the late Emelda B Maggio and Herman H Burnmaster. Numerous nieces and nephews. Geraldine was well known for her years of service at St Julien Eymard and Holy Name of Mary School. She was devoted to her children, loved family gatherings, going to the movies and the casino. At her request her remains are being cremated. A memorial visitation will be held at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 1300 Vallette Street in Algiers from 9:00am until 10:00am on Monday, June 13th and a Memorial Graveside will follow at St Bartholomew Cemetery in Algiers.
