Geraldine Hammond Templet, a native of the Algiers-Gretna area and a resident of Bush, Louisiana for the past 28 years, passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2014 at the age of 88 years. Beloved wife of the late Irvin F. Templet, Sr for 59 years. Companion of Pete Whelan for 12 years. Mother of Irvin F. Templet, Jr. (Linda), Jerry C. Templet, Sr. (Deborah), Jeanne T. Burmaster (Glen) and Eugene P. Templet (Sissy). Daughter of the late Robert E. Hammond, Sr., and Marie Pitre Hammond. Sister of the late Robert E. Hammond, Jr and Constance "Connie" H. Calderone. Survived by 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 924 Monroe St., Gretna, LA (Corner of Burmaster and Franklin Ave) on Thursday, September 4, 2014. Visitation will be held at the church from 11am until 1pm. In lieu of flowers, Masses for Geraldine or donations to your favorite charity are preferred.
