Gertrude Y. Small age 94, entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 3, 2014. Beloved wife of the late Paul C. Small. Daughter of the late Nannie Shuck Young and Charles Richard Young. Mother of Margaret S. Stewart and the late Leonard C. Small. Grandmother of Regina Ledet, Kirt Small, Marie Kern and Timothy Small. Great Grandmother of Walter Kaufman III, Gregory Kaufman, Heather Antee, Devin Kern and Elena Kern. Great Great Grandmother of Walter Kaufman IV, Breeana Kaufman, Paulla Kaufman, Lacey Antee and Helen Kaufman. Sister of Loren Young. Gertrude is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star-St. John’s Chapter of Algiers and the Lions Club of Venice. Gertrude was born in Winona, West Virginia and was a resident of the Westbank. A visitation will be held at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Monday, January 6, 2014 from 8AM until 11AM. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 11AM. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
