Gertrude Cox Woods

Gertrude Cox Woods passed away on December 10, 2011 at 85 years of age. Beloved wife of the late Herschel Oran Woods. Mother of Beverly Abreo (husband Bernard), David Woods (wife Roberta), Stephen Woods (wife JoAnn), Jeanne Doyle (husband William), Christopher Woods, Timothy Woods (wife Juany) and Karen Carr (husband Tim). Daughter of the late Gertrude LeGrande Cox and Alfred Joseph Cox. Sister of Dr. Alfred Cox, Jr. and the late Joyce Creduer. Also survived by 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She served her country as a U.S.O. entertainer during World War II and later was a member of the former St. Julian Eymard Catholic Church Parish, a member of the Ladies Altar Society and the Sacred Heart Society. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 from 9 AM to 1:30 PM.
