March 22, 1940 — July 3, 2016

Gilmer J. Gaudet passed away on July 3, 2016 at the age of 76 years. Beloved husband of Jeane Navarre Gaudet. Father of Claudia Gaudet Arbelle, Neal Gerard Gaudet and Brett Ronald Gaudet. Father-in-law of David Arbelle, Alyssa Gaudet and Anita Gaudet. Grandfather of Sara, Christopher, Hannah, Megan, Abigail, Jenna and Olivia. Great-grandfather of Emma. Brother of Eileen Guidroz and Anna Lee Haddican. Brother-in-law of the late Harold Guidroz and John Haddican. Son of the late Firmin J. Gaudet and Maxine Theriot Gaudet. Also survived by other loving relatives and friends.
Gilmer was born and raised in Raceland, LA and was a graduate of Holy Savior High School, Class of 1958. He served his country in the U.S. Army and later the Army National Guard and later retired from BP Oil (formerly Gulf Oil) after 30 years of service. A dedicated outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and was a skilled duck decoy carver, winning awards and accolades for his talent. He will be sadly missed but his life will be celebrated.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Monday, July 11, 2016 from 9 AM to 1:30 PM.
