Gladys Umbach Lilly, of Algiers, LA. passed away on Friday, November 25, 2016 at the age of 100 years old. Beloved wife of the late William (Mike) Lilly. Mother of William R. Lilly, II of Dallas, TX and Janice L. Gelband (husband, Steve) of Roebuck, S.C. Grandmother of Eli MacDonald and Asher MacDonald. Daughter of the late Maggie Murray Umbach and August F. Umbach. Sister of the late Elizabeth T. Umbach, Dorothy Stathopolor, Clayton A. Umbach, Warren M. Umbach, Fredrick W. Umbach, Robert M. Umbach, Joseph M. Umbach and Raymond L. Umbach. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Married to “Mike” Lilly for 63 years. Homemaker and volunteer for many causes in her long life. Gladys touched numerous lives with her sharp wit and insight, always with a caring manner loved by so many. Gladys was a member of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church for 42 years – Stephen Craft, Minister. Church service as a Celebration of Gladys’ life. No flower donations please.
