Gladys Carney Schluter

Gladys Carney Schluter entered into heaven on Friday, August 30, 2013 after a brief battle with cancer. Beloved wife of Jack L. Schluter. Loving mother of Karen S. Bucher (Patrick), Amy S. Piazza (Michael), Laura S. Bonanno (Gary), John L. Schluter, Jr. (Alisa), and Alan J. Schluter (Nicole). Grandmother of Patrick Bucher, Amanda Betancourt (Carlos), Brendan and Meagan Piazza, Christopher Bonanno, Amber, Kasey, Johnathon, Jack and Eva Schluter. Great grandmother of Addison and Andrew Betancourt. Sister of Joyce Bowers, Judy Jordan, Valerie Howell, Brenda Lomax, Debra Jackson, Albert, Raymond, Gene, and John Carney, the late Madeline Bruno and Edward Carney. Daughter of the late Cecile Swick Carney and Edward J. Carney, Sr. Age 76 years. A native of Mobile, AL and a resident of Terrytown, LA. Gladys was an active parishioner of Christ the King Catholic Church, Terrytown and was a member of the Christ the King Ladies Club and the Society of St. Vincent DePaul. She also was a member of the Peoples Program and The Ochsner Golden Opportunity Club. Gladys loved her family with all her heart. Heaven has gained a great baker, artist and all around good angel. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at 3 PM. Interment, Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11 AM until 3 PM.
