Glenn C. “Mule” LeBlanc passed away on July 7, 2015 at the age of 68 years. Beloved son of the late Jesse and Esther Baril LeBlanc. Brother of Karen Bourg and the late Wayne LeBlanc. Uncle of Nicole, Tara, Jason, Chad and Brent. Also survived by great-neices and nephews along with many other loving family members and friends.
Glenn was born on May 10, 1947, was a lifelong resident of Westwego and attended Westwego Jr. High School. To all his friends, Glenn was known as “Mule”. He got this nickname because he took every task presented to him with full force.
At the age of 13, Glenn and his friend Jake Chimento started playing music in Jake’s garage; Jake on guitar and Glenn playing drums on Mr. Chimento’s barbeque pit. A few years later, Glenn got a real set of drums and later, played a little guitar and lead vocal. Over the years, Glenn played with musicians such as Butch Cheramie, Mike McGee, Wayne Foret, Dino Palmisano, Norman Millet, Jake Chimento, Jack and Jerry Chiasson and had the pleasure of backing up New Orleans own, the “Dixie Cups”. Glenn also played with several bands in the Westbank area. Glenn was a dedicated musician and did numerous benefits throughout his musical career.
He worked for the former Triangle Wholesale Drugs and later for Barbe’s Dairy.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Saturday, July 11, 2015 from 9 AM to 11 AM. A Funeral Mass will follow.
