Gloria Irma Cieutat Compton, a lifelong resident of Algiers, LA, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2011 at the age of 85 years. Wife of the late Joseph Meeker Compton. Daughter of the late Charles Paul Cieutat and Agnes Mary Chatelain Cieutat. Mother of Jeffrey Michael Compton (wife Rebecca) and Linda Compton Cheramie (husband Gary). Sister of Joycelyn Freeman and the late Mae Maxwell, Charles, Raymond, Leslie and Eldred Cieutat. Grandmother of Jake Compton, Taylor Compton, Thomas Compton, Ryan Cheramie, Dana Cheramie, and Paul Cheramie. Great grandmother of Connor Michel and Gavin Cheramie. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 1300 Vallette Street, Algiers, LA on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at 12noon. Interment in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:30AM until Mass time.
