Granville Edward Abbott

Granville Edward Abbott, age 83 entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 23, 2016. Beloved husband of Rita Claire Gruntz Abbott. Son of the late Kirk H. Abbott, Sr. and Josephine Cambre Abbott. Beloved and loving father of Charles H. Abbott, Gary E. Abbott (Lori), Claire L. Abbott, Gwen A. Woody (David) and Elizabeth M. Guidry (Roy). Beloved brother of Helen A. Farrelly (the late Patrick) and the late Kirk Abbott, Jr. (the late Inez) and Neil Abbott (the late Janet). Granville is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren as well as a host of extended family members and lifelong friends. He served his country while enlisted in the United States Army. He was a member of the American Legion Post 218 of Algiers and a member of AARP of Algiers. He was born in Algiers and resided in Terrytown. A Funeral Mass will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 1:30PM. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
