On July 7, 2021, Halsie McLaughlin Bodden was called home to be with her Lord and Savior. She passed away peacefully in her sleep. Halsie will forever be known as a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and dear friend. She was especially known for her fiery spirit and sharp wit, she was a fast friend to many. Halsie Bodden is survived by her three daughters Thesla Martin, Donna Bodden, Alvinita Wilsey and one brother, Richard Borden. As well as grandchildren Michelle LeBlanc, Shawn Martin, Raymond Martin Jr, Tim Wilsey, Colleen Martin, Jessica Scott and Andrea Wilsey. Great grandchildren include Elijah LeBlanc, Aliyah LeBlanc, Alyssa Bankston, Yves’s II Bourgeois, Chloe Bourgeois, Landon Cuila, Dalton and Trent Gross along with many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her only sister, Mrs. Annie McLaughlin Thompson. Nothing made her happier than to spend time with her family and friends, enjoying family outings, recounting funny memories, or simply just being together. Halsie will always be remembered by her grace in life, her generosity, her friendliness and kindness to anyone who was lucky enough to cross her path. Those closest to her will miss her dearly.

Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, Louisiana on Friday, July 16, 2021 from 2PM until 3PM. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 3PM. Interment will be in Restlawn Park Cemetery, Avondale, Louisiana.
A reception will be held at St. Joseph Church (Social Room), 610 6th Street, Gretna, Louisiana 70053.
