Harold L. “Dutch” Asevedo, Sr. passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2012. Born on January 7,1927 in St. Bernard Parish, he was 85 years old and had lived the past 48 years in Plaquemines Parish. A retired General Contractor, he had previously worked as an investigator for both the Plaquemines Parish District Attorney’s Office and the Plaquemines Parish Commission Council. He served proudly and honorably in the Navy in the Pacific theater during World War II. He is survived by his devoted and beloved wife of 60 years, Mildred Hanks Asevedo, his son Dr. Harold L. “Rocky” Asevedo (wife Marlena) and his four grandchildren; Alexis Hope, Christian Sage, Elena Lace and Chase Samuel. He is also survived by his brother, Jerry Asevedo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Philip Asevedo, Sr. and Annie Griner Asevedo and his three brothers, Charles Asevedo, Marcel Asevedo and Philip Asevedo and sister Elvera Nicholson. Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Friday, July 20, 2012 at 11 AM. Interment in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Visitation will be on Thursday, July 19, 2012 from 6PM until 9PM and Friday, July 20, 2012 from 9AM until service time.
