Harold Joseph Lapeyrouse, Sr. was born on June 24, 1920 and passed away on December 13, 2012 at the age of 92 years. He was a native of Chauvin, LA, was raised in New Orleans and Algiers and resided in Gretna, LA.
Survivors include his devoted companion, Jenny Ganci; son, Harold Lapeyrouse, Jr. and his wife Debbie of Baton Rouge, LA; daughter, Jane Lapeyrouse of Gretna; his grandchildren, Brett Lapeyrouse, Jeremy Lapeyrouse, Melvin Addison, Rachel Addison, Myles Addison and Zachary Addison; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Manuella Lapeyrouse; parents, Camille and Edna Lapeyrouse; brothers, Camille Jr. and Edmond.
Harold served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He later worked as a realtor, a notary public and a real estate broker. He was proud of his heritage and was a member of the Cajun Heritage Dance Company and CODIFIL and was also a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 from 10 AM to 11 AM. Funeral Services will follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment will take place at Westlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Brett Lapeyrouse, Jeremy Lapeyrouse, Melvin Addison, Myles Addison, Zachary Addison and Gregory Wilcoxon.
