Harold Joseph Matherne

Harold Joseph Matherne, Jr. passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at the age of 64. Former husband of Monita Ann Matherne Bennerfield. Companion of Jeanne Jordano. Son of Vivian B. Matherne and the late Harold Joseph Matherne, Sr. Father of Brian Paul Matherne (Wife Kristi) and Christy Faith Matherne (Fiance’ Thomas). Grandfather of Madison Joy Matherne and Lauren Nicole Matherne. Brother of Keith Matherne, Sr. (Wife Dolores) and Terry Timmons (former Husband, Frank, Jr.). Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. Mr. Harold was a lifelong resident of the Westbank. He worked 26 years for LP&L Entergy, 3 years for DynMcDermott and was currently employed as an Accountant for the Jefferson Parish School Board since 2006. He served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was a longtime Usher and Parishioner of St. Cletus Catholic Church in Gretna, LA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 from 6PM until 9PM. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Wednesday from 8AM until 10:30AM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Cletus Catholic Church, 3600 Claire Avenue, Gretna, LA on Wednesday at 11AM.
