Harold Joseph Percle

Harold Joseph Percle passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2023 at the age of 87. Husband of the late Carla Kurtz Percle for 49 years who passed away in 2009. Harold was born on August 17, 1936 in Gretna, LA to the late Edwin H. Percle and the late Marie Simmons Percle. Brother of the late Edwina “Butsy” Euper (the late Thomas) and the late Edwin (E.J.) Percle. He is survived by his loving children Susan E. Percle (James) and David C. Percle Sr. (the late Lori). Loving grandfather of David C. Percle Jr. (Elizabeth). Harold is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, and longtime friends. Harold was a lifelong resident of Gretna, LA. He worked in retail from 1963 until the early 80’s at which time he began working in Gretna City Hall. He retired from the City of Gretna in 2010. Harold also proudly served his country as a Sargent in the Army National Guard of Louisiana. Harold was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church and served as an usher, lector, eucharistic minister, and volunteer for St. Joseph School. He was honored to be a recipient of the Order of St. Louis Medallion from the Archdiocese of New Orleans for his faithful service to the Catholic Church. Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral mass on Friday, September 8, 2023 at 3:30PM at St Joseph Catholic Church, 610 6^th St., in Gretna, LA. Visitation will begin at 2PM.
